Graeme Smith will change the fate of African team, can become first director

Former cricket captain Graeme Smith may become South Africa's first cricket director. The post came into existence after a poor performance in the 2019 World Cup in South African cricket.

Smith, one of the most successful captains in South African cricket history, told the website ESPNcricinfo that he is among those who have been interviewed for this new post.

The South African team is proving unable to find an option for players like Abraham de Villiers, Dale Steyn, Hashim Amla and Morne Morkel.

In the same year, in the World Cup played in England, the South African team was eliminated from the group round. Recently India also defeated South Africa 3–0 in their home Test series.
